IRON RUN 2026

The IRON RUN 2026 is a marathon event celebrating the 38th anniversary of the POSCO Labor Union and the opening of the Haeoreum Bridge. This event will offer a special experience to participants against the backdrop of Pohang's beautiful coastal scenery.

The race courses are designed with special meanings: 3.8km commemorating the 38th anniversary of the POSCO Labor Union, 7.87km symbolizing the specific gravity of iron, and 15.38km representing the melting point of iron. Each course incorporates Pohang's landmarks, promising an enjoyable run for participants. Notably, the courses around Yeongildae Beach and the Sea Pavilion are designed to allow participants to enjoy the beautiful ocean views while running.

Participants will receive a commemorative t-shirt, a souvenir, a race bib, a finisher's medal, a certificate of record, and refreshments. Athletes registered with the Korea Association of Athletics Federation and participants who violate the event's regulations will be excluded from awards. This event does not offer cash receipts or card payments; however, a payment confirmation certificate will be issued for proof of participation fee payment.

For safe event operation, eligibility is open to any healthy male or female, restricted to those born on or after January 1, 1957. Specifically, participants for the 1st and 2nd courses must be born between January 1, 1957, and May 31, 2026, while participants for the 3rd course must be born between January 1, 1957, and December 31, 2013. The safety of participants is prioritized given the high temperatures during midsummer.

Registration is open from April 1, 2026, to May 31, 2026, on the official website on a first-come, first-served basis. A total of 5,000 participants will be accepted, and registration may close early if the limit is reached. Please note that if the participation fee is not paid within 5 days of registration, the application may be canceled.
