Race Information
The 2026 Pohang Marathon Championship will open its registration from April 13th on a first-come, first-served basis for 7,000 participants. Registration will be conducted online via the official website. Please note that if the participation fee is not paid within 3 days of application, the application will be automatically canceled. Commemorative items and bib numbers will be shipped to the address provided by individual participants, while group participants will receive a bulk shipment to the address provided by the group representative.
This event features two courses: 10Km and 5Km. The participation fee for the 10Km course is 50,000 won, and for the 5Km course, it is 30,000 won. Fees can be deposited into the iM Bank account (504-10-237638-7, Account Holder: High Gear (Park Gwang-yeol)). For bank transfers without a passbook, individuals must state their name and 6-digit birth date (e.g., Hong Gil-dong123456), while groups must clearly state their group name (e.g., Happy Marathon Club).
All participants are covered by accident insurance; however, this group insurance only covers fatal accidents and does not include injuries or hospital treatment costs. Therefore, treatment costs are the responsibility of the individual, and the organizers are not liable. Individuals with high blood pressure or heart disease should refrain from participating, and all participants must ensure they are in a healthy condition to complete their chosen course. If any physical abnormalities occur during the race, immediately stop and seek assistance from the medical team or event staff. In cases of injury or accidents involving proxy participants or unregistered individuals, full responsibility lies with the individual, and the organizers bear no liability.
Refund requests are possible until the registration deadline, after which cancellation and refunds are not permitted. The specific refund application period will be announced separately before the registration deadline; if registration closes early due to reaching the participant limit, refund applications may also close early. To apply for a refund, participants must complete and submit the refund application form on the website, followed by a confirmation call to the marathon office (1600-4525). Refund amounts will be processed and paid within two weeks of processing. Participants registered with the Korea Athletics Federation or those whose registration was canceled less than 3 years ago are excluded from awards. In the event of cancellation due to natural disasters, participation fees will not be refunded, but commemorative items will still be sent.
The Marathon Office is located at Pohang City Athletics Federation, 10 Sanggong-ro, Nam-gu, Pohang-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do, with the phone number 1600-4525. Office hours are from 10:00 to 17:00, excluding weekends and public holidays, with a lunch break from 12:00 to 13:00.
