Race Information
An energetic challenge! The 2026 Yeongcheon Dam Marathon will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2026, in the area of Yeongcheon Dam Park. It offers participants a special experience of running together amidst the beautiful, clean nature of Yeongcheon. The assembly time is 9 AM, and it will be a festival for everyone to enjoy through various courses. This event is co-hosted by the Yeongcheon City Athletics Federation and Channel Gyeongbuk, with support from various organizations including Gyeongsangbuk-do, Yeongcheon City, Yeongcheon City Council, Yeongcheon Sports Council, K-water, Yeongcheon Chamber of Commerce and Industry, NH Nonghyup, and IM Bank.
The race features three main categories: 5km Fun Run, 10km Course, and Half Course. The 5km course is designed as a light course that families can enjoy without burden, while the 10km and Half courses are prepared for more challenging runners. Each course provides a finisher's medal and a commemorative T-shirt, and precise records are provided through chip timing.
Generous awards are prepared for each category to inspire participants' competitive spirit. For the 10km and Half courses, 1st place receives KRW 300,000, 2nd place KRW 200,000, and 3rd place KRW 100,000 in prize money. In the 5km course, participants from 1st to 5th place will receive special local products from Yeongcheon. Additionally, groups of 20 or more participants are eligible for special support funds of up to KRW 300,000, offering attractive benefits for group participation.
Registration for participation is scheduled to begin on September 1, 2026, and commemorative items will be shipped uniformly to all participants before the race.
