Race Information
The 2026 2nd SANDRUN in Yeongdeok is South Korea's unique beach running event held at the beautiful Daejin Beach in Gyeongsangbuk-do. It offers a special opportunity for runners accustomed to asphalt roads to prove their limits on the soft sand. Following the success of the first event last year, it returns for Season 2 to provide an even more powerful and thrilling experience.
The course follows the coastline from Daejin Beach to Goraebul Beach, allowing participants to enjoy wide-open ocean views. Running on sand consumes approximately 1.4 to 1.6 times more energy than running on asphalt, making it a highly rewarding physical challenge. Runners can put away their earphones and let the sound of the waves be their background music, enjoying the open horizon instead of a bleak forest of buildings. This will be a romantic race that satisfies all five senses beyond just measuring a record.
On the day of the event, various festival programs such as a local brand market, an after-party with a DJ, and warm-up stretching with special ambassadors will be held. A stylish running kit including a T-shirt, finisher medal, and race bib will be provided, and trophies and cash prizes will be awarded to the 1st and 2nd place finishers in each category. Additionally, a lucky draw for all participants and various event booths are prepared to continue the passionate festival atmosphere until the end. If you want a special running experience that you will never forget in your life, take on the challenge right now.
