Race Information
This competition is the 26th 518 Marathon Competition, held to commemorate the 46th anniversary of the 5.18 Democratization Movement. Marathoners from all over the country will gather to participate in a beautiful race, honoring the noble spirit of democracy.
The event will commence at 8:00 AM on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at the plaza of the National 5.18 Cemetery. On this special day, participants will run through a historic site imbued with the spirit of 5.18, reflecting on its significance.
There are two categories: 5.18Km and 10Km, and anyone aged 5 and above can participate. Applications are limited to the first 1,500 participants and may close early, so prompt registration is advised. Applications can be submitted online at www.518run.com.
The competition is hosted by the 518 Memorial Foundation and Jeonnam Ilbo, organized by Jeonnam Ilbo, and co-organized by Marathon Sesang. Efforts will be made to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants.
