Race Information
The 2nd Hanbat Run & Walk is a public interest sports festival where citizens of all ages walk and run together, exercising a positive influence through healthy local culture. The first event successfully supported 17 youth preparing for independence living in Daejeon, fostering a bigger dream to establish a Youth Development Center for sustainable support. Despite the challenging endeavor, we aim to run once more for a good cause, and your participation and support will champion the dreams of young people outside the social safety net.
This event is held in conjunction with 'Light that Illuminates the World, Dan-in-sa Danbul,' a non-profit organization that provides practical opportunities such as scholarships, living expenses support, food/necessities assistance, overseas volunteer activities, and Youth Camps, enabling children to grow into influential leaders through direct challenges and experiences. Every step you take will be a beacon of hope for our youth.
The event features two courses: a 10K and a 5K. The 10K course includes an electronic timing chip for accurate record-keeping, while the 5K course does not. For the 5K course, participation is recommended for elementary school students accompanied by a guardian and families with strollers. The 10K course is divided into a 'Rabbit Group' (aiming to finish within 60 minutes) and a 'Turtle Group,' and the 5K course also offers 'Rabbit' and 'Turtle' groups.
The participation fee is 40,000 KRW for the 10K and 35,000 KRW for the 5K. For children under elementary school age, the fee is 15,000 KRW. Participants will receive a commemorative T-shirt, sports socks, a key ring or badge, knee support, a completion medal, a bib number, a timing chip (for 10K), and completion snacks. Participants under elementary school age will receive a completion medal, T-shirt, bib number, and completion snacks.
Prize money is awarded only to 10Km participants, with 200,000 KRW for 1st place, 150,000 KRW for 2nd place, and 100,000 KRW for 3rd place in both male and female categories. Registration can be completed through the 'Apply' menu at the top of the homepage, with the application deadline being April 29th, 17:00. Changes to T-shirt sizes and cancellations/refunds are possible through 'My Page' within the same period; thereafter, no changes or cancellations will be accepted. The 10km course is limited to middle school students and above. Children under elementary school age must be accompanied by a guardian and can only participate in the 5km course.
The event venue is Daejeon Expo Citizens' Plaza, and public transportation is recommended. Information on bus and subway routes, as well as parking at Dunsan Grand Park, is provided. Parking is available for a fee, with the first 3 hours free, followed by hourly charges. Heavy traffic is expected on the day of the event, so using public transportation is strongly advised. Inquiries can be made through the 1:1 inquiry board or via the partnership inquiry email.
