The 26th Ganghwa Beach Marathon will start at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, September 13, 2026, and will be held at Ganghwa Hamseon Park (public parking lot) in Ganghwa-gun, Incheon. The event is limited to 3,500 participants on a first-come, first-served basis, and it is presented as a marathon where runners can enjoy the coastal scenery and local atmosphere of Ganghwa Island.

The race offers Half, 10 km, and 5 km events, and also includes special participation formats such as Couple Run and Family Run. The Half course is open only to men and women aged 18 or older, while the 10 km and 5 km events have no participation restrictions. However, athletes registered with the Korea Association of Athletics Federations, triathlon registered athletes, and those whose athlete registration was canceled less than two years ago are excluded from awards.

Participants will receive a souvenir, bib number, finisher’s medal, and finisher snack, and online race certificates and timing chips are provided for all events except the 5 km race. Bib numbers and souvenirs are mailed one week before the event, and finishers receive a medal and an online certificate. In addition, teams of 20 or more participants receive a group booth benefit.

The course is operated according to group assignments based on personal best records, and runners must choose the group that matches their own best time. Time limits are set at 3 hours for the Half, 2 hours for the 10 km, and 1 hour for the 5 km. Aid stations provide water and sports drinks every 5 km, water sponges are offered every 5 km after the 7.5 km point, and nutritional snacks are provided at the 15 km point.

The event is hosted by Incheon Ilbo, organized by the Incheon Marathon Organizing Committee, and supported by Ganghwa County. Registration is available online through the official website, and group entries can also be submitted by email. Refunds are available only until 17:00 on July 24, 2026; after that, cancellations and refunds are not permitted.
