The 2026 Yangyang Riverside National Marathon is a sports festival held under the slogan 'YRUN', set against the beautiful natural scenery of Yangyang, Gangwon-do. The event will gather on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at 9:00 AM, with the official start at 10:00 AM. Participants can enjoy a unique running experience around the Yangyang Welcome Center and the Namdaecheon Stream area.
The race course is designed along the Namdaecheon Stream, the lifeline of Yangyang, allowing runners to race while feeling the refreshing river breeze. The Namdaecheon area, where you can enjoy Yangyang's clean natural environment, provides an optimal running environment for all participants. At the beginning of autumn, it will be a precious time to awaken your inner runner DNA against the backdrop of Yangyang's beautiful scenery.
The competition is divided into three sections: Half course, 10km, and 5km, making it accessible for everyone from beginners to experienced runners. Time limits are applied for each event, with 3 hours for the Half course and 1 hour 30 minutes for the 10km race to ensure the safe completion of all participants. Anyone in good physical health can participate and challenge their limits in the nature of Yangyang.
Hosted by G1 Broadcasting and Yangyang-gun, the event offers various linked programs such as infinity pool access after finishing and surfing information, taking advantage of Yangyang's reputation as a surfing mecca. Various events for participants, including prize draws and souvenir giveaways, will be held at the venue. Furthermore, the organizers aim to increase participant satisfaction by providing free shuttle buses and information on various convenience facilities.
