Race Information
The Gwangju MBC Mudeungsan Area Geo Marathon is held to commemorate the designation of the Mudeungsan Area as a UNESCO Global Geopark and to widely promote the beauty and diverse values of Mudeungsan National Park. It is also a festival for local residents to expand the base of marathon participation and celebrate the re-certification of the UNESCO Mudeungsan Area Global Geopark.
This event takes place throughout the Mudeungsan area, spanning Gwangju Metropolitan City, Damyang County, and Hwasun County, with the assembly point at Kumho Hwasun Spa Resort. Participants will enjoy the magnificent natural scenery of Mudeungsan while running.
Various courses are available to accommodate different participants, including 30km, Half Marathon, 10km, 5.18km courses, and a 2km walking course. Registration for each event may close early on a first-come, first-served basis, so early application is recommended for those interested.
The event is organized by Marathon Sesang, with support from various sponsoring and cooperating organizations. Generous participant souvenirs will be provided, and detailed information about the race can be found in the race regulations, welcome message, awards, precautions, and directions.
