Race Information

The Wings for Life World Run is a truly unique and global race for both runners and wheelchair participants. Instead of a finish line, competitors race side by side to keep ahead of the Virtual Catcher Car. On May 10, 2026, participants in South Korea can also run together in Bucheon. Meet up with your friends, download the Wings for Life World Run App and join all the other people running until the Virtual Catcher Car catches you. The race starts at exactly 8:00:00 PM KST.

The Virtual Catcher Car takes off 30 minutes after the start at 14 km/h and steadily increases its speed until the last athletes have been caught. 100% of all donations and entry fees go directly into spinal cord research projects. Through this special App Run event, anyone can participate in the race from their own location.

This event is held as part of the Wings for Life Foundation's efforts to find a cure for spinal cord injury. Participants gather at Bucheon Stadium to start the race together, competing against the Virtual Catcher Car through a smartphone app. The goal of the race is to run as far as possible before the Virtual Catcher Car overtakes the participant. Participants can check their records and rankings in real-time through the app at their location.

100% of all entry fees go to support spinal cord research. This serves as a crucial source of funding to give hope to those suffering from spinal cord injuries and ultimately find a cure. The Wings for Life World Run is more than just a run; it is a place for solidarity and sharing for a better future.

Bucheon Stadium serves as the starting point and meeting point for the race. Participants can interact with other runners here and will receive local operational support including refreshment stations, and race numbers and updates for wheelchair participants. Download the mobile app to participate in the race and take on the challenge: 'How far can you run?'
