Race Information
The 11th 2026 Kim Dae-jung Peace Marathon is held to honor the spirit of President Kim Dae-jung, who dedicated his life to peace and democracy. Commemorating his legacy as the winner of the 2000 Nobel Peace Prize, this event serves as a symbol of reconciliation and cooperation on the Korean Peninsula. Beyond being a simple sporting event, it carries significant meaning as a civic festival celebrating the values of peace, human rights, and reconciliation.
The core themes of this year's marathon are 'Peace for Future Generations' and 'Together in Carbon Neutrality Practice.' We invite you to join this journey of passion, sharing hope through sports and cheering each other on as we move toward a better tomorrow for the Korean Peninsula. The festival shines brighter when everyone participates, and running toward hope with unceasing passion will change our collective future.
The event will take place on Sunday, June 14, 2026, starting at 9:00 AM at the Sangam World Cup Park Peace Plaza in Seoul. Participation categories include the Half course, 10km, and 5km, allowing everyone from beginners to experienced runners to join based on their fitness levels. A pleasant course set against the beautiful scenery of the Sangam area and the open space of Peace Plaza awaits all participants to enjoy the joy of running.
Participants will be provided with a practical commemorative tumbler, a finisher's medal, and snacks to replenish their energy. Hosted by the Kim Dae-jung Foundation and organized by the Kim Dae-jung Peace Marathon Organizing Committee, with support from Seoul Metropolitan Government and Mapo-gu, we look forward to your interest and participation. It will be a path of hope, running together while reflecting on the messages of peace and prosperity left by President Kim Dae-jung.
