Race Information
The 1st Gurye Jirisan Spring Road Marathon offers a special opportunity to run while enjoying the beautiful spring of Jirisan Mountain. This event has been prepared for runners who wish to feel the ambiance of spring along with the natural scenery of the Gurye region.
The race will kick off on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 8:30 AM from the Gurye Public Stadium. Participants can choose from three courses: Half Marathon, 10km, or 5km, allowing them to enjoy a course that suits their fitness level and goals. Notably, the courses unfolding against the backdrop of Jirisan's stunning landscapes will create unforgettable memories for the participants.
Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis and will close on April 17th. The participation fee is 35,000 won for the Half Marathon and 10km courses, and 20,000 won for the 5km course. All participants must be in good health, and registered athletes with the Korea Athletics Federation may be excluded from awards. It is essential to review the detailed race regulations and notices before registration.
The organizers are Gwangju Bank and OhmyNews Gwangju Jeolla Headquarters Co., Ltd. The marathon secretariat operates from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, excluding lunch hours (12:00 PM - 1:00 PM). The event plans to provide commemorative gifts to all participants, offering a great opportunity to gain both health and enjoyment in the beautiful nature of Gurye.
