2026 Wonju Chiak Marathon

Event Overview

The 2026 Wonju Chiak Marathon brings together the spirit of Mt. Chiak and the scenery of Wonjucheon Stream.

• Date: Sunday, November 29, 2026; assembly at 7:00 AM (KST)
• Venue: Wonju Sports Complex Stadium
• Hosts and organizers: Kangwon Domin Ilbo and Wonju Athletics Federation
• Capacity: 3,000 runners, first come, first served (Half: 800 / 10 km: 1,500 / 5 km: 700)

Races, Entry Fees and Start Times

• Half marathon: KRW 50,000 / 8:00 AM start / 2 hours 30 minutes time limit
• 10 km: KRW 45,000 / 8:05 AM start / 1 hour 30 minutes time limit
• 5 km: KRW 30,000 / 8:10 AM start / 1 hour time limit
• Time limits are strictly enforced, measured from the start line to the finish line.

Registration

• Opens: September 16, 2026, at 10:00 AM (KST)
• Entries are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. The closing date will be announced separately.
• Both the application and payment must be completed to confirm entry.
• Payment is by bank transfer. Unpaid applications are automatically canceled after 3 days (72 hours).

Participant Benefits

• Commemorative gift, race bib, and timing chip (no chip for the 5 km race)
• Finisher medal, drink, and snacks upon completion
• Race items are scheduled to be shipped on November 20; this may change.

Refunds

• Refund requests are accepted from the opening of registration until October 30, 2026, at 5:00 PM (KST).
• Requests must be made by telephone to the event office. A 100% refund is available during this period.

Safety and Important Notes

• An emergency medical center will operate at the assembly area, with emergency responders and ambulances stationed at key points along the course.
• The event carries organizer liability coverage through the Korea Sports Safety Foundation.
