Race Information
We invite you to the 2026 Hwaseong Filial Piety Marathon, an event for the whole family. This marathon is themed around filial piety, aiming to promote love and harmony among family members and foster a healthy community. Especially this year, its May event during the Month of Family will make it an even more meaningful occasion.
The race will take place on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, starting at 9 AM in the Hwaseong Sports Complex area. Participants can enjoy running against the backdrop of Hwaseong's beautiful scenery, taking care of their health, and creating joyful memories. A total of 10,000 participants will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, based on payment completion.
A variety of course options are available, allowing everyone from young to old to participate. There are Half Marathon (21.0975km), 10km, and 5km Health Run courses. In particular, for the 5km event, there are diverse programs designed for participation with family members, including a Couple Run (2 people), Family Run (2-6 people), and a Three-Generation Family Run (3-6 people). Each course has been designed to ignite participants' competitive spirit and provide enjoyment.
The participation fees vary by course. The Half Marathon and 10km courses are priced at 40,000 won. The 5km Health Run is 25,000 won. The 5km Couple Run and Family Run for 2 people are 30,000 won. For Family Runs with 3 or more people, including the Three-Generation Family Run, the fee is 40,000 won. Chip timing will be provided for the Half Marathon and 10km courses, while the 5km courses will not have chip timing. Special bibs will be provided for Couple Run and Family Run participants.
Souvenirs will be generously provided for participants in the Half Marathon and 10km courses, and participants in the 5km course will also receive a small token of appreciation. Through participation, attendees can pursue a healthy lifestyle and spend quality time with family and loved ones. Detailed information about the souvenirs will be announced later on the website.
Registration is available through the official marathon website, and payment can be made via credit card or virtual account. Refunds are available until 3 PM on Friday, April 10. Refund requests should be submitted through the refund board on the website. For credit card payments, the transaction will be canceled, and for virtual account payments, a full refund will be processed. Please note that cancellations and refunds are not possible after the refund period has ended.
For a safe and successful event, participants must take good care of their bibs, as they will not be reissued. The event secretariat can be reached at Tel 1600-3962, operating weekdays from 10 AM to 5 PM (lunch break from 12 PM to 1 PM). Real-time inquiries are also available through the KakaoTalk channel. We will do our best to ensure all participants can complete the race enjoyably and safely.
This event is organized and sponsored by the Hwaseong Sports Council, Kyongin Ilbo Co., Ltd., and Road Sports Co., Ltd., serving as a festival that enhances Hwaseong's status and promotes the health of its citizens. Through sections such as the introduction of past filial piety awardees, the history of the Filial Piety Marathon, and the Hall of Fame, participants can reflect on the meaning of the event and foster harmony. Additionally, venue and course information will be provided to support a smooth event day.
