Race Information
The 14th Gwangmyeong Mayor's Cup Health Running Competition is a road short marathon held in Gwangmyeong with 5 km and 10 km races. Any healthy citizen can participate, and entries are limited to the first 700 runners.
The race starts at Anyangcheon Gwangmyeong Chanbit Square, with check-in at 8:20 a.m. and the start at 9:00 a.m. It is run in a gun-time format.
There are two events: 5 km and 10 km. The 5 km race is limited to 300 runners and the 10 km race to 400 runners. The entry fee is KRW 30,000 per person, and prizes are awarded to the top three men and women in each event.
After finishing, runners can enjoy pork slices, tofu, kimchi, and makgeolli, and there are also wooden cutting boards and other giveaway prizes. Hosted and organized by the Gwangmyeong City Sports Council and the Gwangmyeong City Athletics Federation, it is a community race where local runners can enjoy both competition and celebration.
